I agree. I just caught the end of the Pat Boone thing. I really feel for those people who chose to inlist but we don't need to be in Iraq in the first place. It was very over the top. I guess it can either be the syndicate says they have to do certain things to stay on the air (see my posts in the Art Bell tribe) or George Noory wants to do some "positive" type shows to counteract the scary stuff like shows on poltergists, spirits, weather change, the end of the world, etc. Who knows? When he's on, he's really on, though! I thought the shows with Freddy Silva & Graham Handcock were really great. Also, the show he did about water with the guy who's a remote viewer (I forgot his name) & the other remote viewers like Joe McGoneagle. The good shows far outweigh the few lame ones. You never hear Freddy Silva or Joe McGoneagle on most US mainstream media.

Pat Boone is diametrically opposite of many of my defined 'positives'; yet he IS self-effacing...yes, funny, while taking his faith seriously. I could have turkey dinner with the guy and enjoy myself more than with my family of orgin. Having Boone on, I feel, helps us think with different synapses..and helps us not take all this too seriously.

I didn't really mean Pat Boone as being "positive". The guest that was on after was a motivational speaker-type. Those kind of people seem weird to me. They mostly want to sell their "product". It's kind of creepy. It's just a bit lighter than having a show about alien abductions or the apocolypse... I suppose. There were a number of shows in October that were quite scary. It was Halloween season so lots of stuff about ghosts, apparitions, poltergists... pretty scary stuff (to me anyway).

...I saw George in Seattle at his book signing patiently, gallently dealing with shills and what one might call 'special interests' in a different context. I totally agree with you; sometimes, I feel George, with his grounded midwestern influence, gives this element a voice -just like a Watkins booth. Pretty harmless, Grit magazine-bland at times. Hopefully, this will keep the mix light and irreverent when needed...
