reincarnation and ramona

you just have to wonder how airyn feels about art going on the radio and talking about the possibilities of his last wife reincarnating into the baby she is carrying around...

he really is an egomaniacal ass sometimes... but then i guess when you are bought and sold you live with this sort of thing quietly...

poor kid...

if i were her i'd tell him to shove his pizza punch up his ass...

I hear him talking about this as well. I have wondered the same thing. He even talked about it when he made his acceptance speech for that award.

I thought it was strange that the night he accepted that award was the FIRST time Art and George met. I would think if you were going to turn your Coast to Coast radio show over to someone you would have a little sit down first. Wouldn't ya?

While I'm rambling here, I am bummed out that Art is a conservative Republican. Heard him say it during that acceptance speech. That's just me. But, I am bummed out that ANYONE is a conservative Republican!!!

unless he's taken a serious turn, this is contrary to everything i've ever heard him say. He's been a consistent critic of the bush administration on all the major talking points (iraq, surveillance, civil liberties). all that means in and of itself is that he's not a neocon, but ive heard him say on many occasions over the years that he's a libertarian. i've always assumed he's something of a right-leaning libertarian, but a libertarian nonetheless on every major issue in the platform.

now whether or not he's a freemason colluding with the power elite, william cooper might have a thing or two to say about that...i've begun to wonder in light of art's virulent 9-11 conspiracy debunking.

well there are allot of us Republicans that arent in agreement, just like the Dems...thats why I think its more of a liberal/conservative thing, but I am not big into jabering about politics, just the fun stuff.....I think he likes to propogate interesting weird topics in general, conspiracy theorys etc..play right into that flavor.
so anyway, getting back to the topic...Reincarnaiton and Ramona...did he really imply that Ramona was coming back through the new born?

yeah i was shocked to hear they had never met... i felt like i got a real peek into the true nature of art when i heard that whole thing...

and what kills me is that george is such an incredibly compassionate and gentle person... for someone who has been in the media most of his life he is such a humble person who seems much more comfortable praising others than being praised... to think of art being so completely checked out on who he was handing his show over to speaks volumes about his own ego...

    it's kind of disgusting...

Art's definitely an enigma... I do enjoy some of his shows so I can be all that negative about him. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for his new wife to be carrying the soul of his former wife - if that's the case. It's better then their baby being a former enemy. I guess I'm sort of used to the idea since I was a Buddhist for a while (I'm not a Buddhist now). His new wife may actually have a better life here with him than in the Phillipines. It's hard to say. I really don't get the "conservative" thing. Maybe he just says that as a cover & so he can continue his show. Who knows what kinds of pressures he may have or what his affiliations are? Life is strange sometimes. That is weird that he never actually met George. I guess the decision was made by the broadcasting company & Art didn't have all that much to do with it. Sometimes it goes like that. I don't know, though. I just started listning about 1 year ago.

If you listened to him for 15 years, you would have a different take on it.

travis, please follow up on your post... explain what you mean by that... we new listeners can benefit from your experience, i want to know what you think...

i've only been listening since autumn of 2006 and i find my opinions ever-evolving on both art and george... art continues to gross me out every night he is on but i have to say that when he is on his game, show-wise, he can do unscreened open lines like nobody's business and he can really create tension and atmosphere galore... i don't think he's on his game all that much in the last few months... i think he was doing better shows even in manilla... i really dislike his refusal to be openminded about the alex jones stuff and his ever encroaching conservative social views and values...

george sometimes disappoints me and i don't always agree with his selection of guests or even his ways of thinking about some things... but as a person i have to say i respect george more and more every night... sometimes his reading gets sloppy and he has a tendency to kiss certain ass i find ludicrous... but still, i'd much rather spend 4 hours a night listening to him talk than art any night...

and i admit i really do like ian... i don't listen to c2c live all that much because i don't find the guests all that compelling... but he has a certain sarcastic sense of humour that i am growing to like and i also enjoy him because he asks some of the hard questions that pop right into my mind... i think he's a good host for the show...

I agree wth ya Feral! It must be hard to come up with enthusiam for all the guests on an ongoing basis. The show is 4 hours long... Most radio talk shows are only an hour. It's good they get to stretch out but it must get difficult at times finding guests, reading all of their books, coming up with intelligent questions, etc. There are other radio shows that I listen to & I don't think it's possible to agree with everything the host(s) says. You'd probably be some kind of nut if you did. The thing is, is that you can change the station if you don't like it & listen on another day. At lease it's not like Clockwork Orange where we're forced to listen... (just a joke, everyone). Talk show hosts are people, too. Sometimes, they have off days or weird opinions about things.

Myself, Im going on my 10th year of c2c and I have to admit that the subject matter within the last year has been kind of lame. I still long for the 4hour nights of the "anti-christ hotline" ,and the interviews with Father Martin. Now, that was Art Bell! Maybe I just miss the freak shows.

Yeah.. I've been listening since right before Art came back on weekends... when Ramona was still alive.
I think this gives me a different perspective on Art, George, Ian, Ramona, Aryn, & the soon to be little Asia...
Wow. I didn't know Art hadn't met George, but given what a great Talk Radio guy George is... I think it was a good choice.
A friend of mine who has been listening for 10-15 years told me Ian Punet was the first choice for the job, but he ticked
someone off or something so George got it.

I would think that Aryn knew what she was getting herself into when she married Art.
I'm sure she knew his wife just died, and that he was going through a pretty rough stretch.
I think she saved his life, and if it helps him to think that his little girl could be Ramona and they
could all live happily ever after... well.. more power to them. I really don't think Aryn was "bought" ...

you know anni, i truly hope you are right about airyn not being bought... i really do cos i worry about that girl...

i think george is truly the best choice for the job... not to say i don't love ian... i think he is super cool... and i really enjoy on friday nights when george and ian talk about the upcoming c2clive show... they sound like they really like talking to each other... The Boy and i were jawing about it last night and we decided that a george AND ian show would be fun... i think the two of them together would make for a really interesting back and forth - ian's dry wit and engaging sense of humour combined with george's boundless compassion and soulful committment to the show would be awesome... and the idea of the two of them working together to interview guests would be something special... ian likes to ask the "hard" questions - when i am listening to one of his guests or callers really start to make some fascinating and outrageous claims he throws out the questions that are first in my head and it makes for some good talkradio... combine that with george's incredible empathy and true desire to give a guest every opportunity to explain what they are all about and i think it could be something really beneficial to coast... not necessarily every night but maybe a couple nights a week might be really cool that way...

Perhaps *ART* was the one that was bought, in a sense. Aryn did initiate the conversation, knowing that Art had just lost his beloved wife. Perhaps she wanted a ticket to the US, and did what she needed to do to get one! It's at least possible.

yeah i've heard this theory before...

but really, look at the man... i mean, would you begrudge this poor child a ticket to the us for doing the saint's work of banging art on a regular basis? i wouldn't do it for canadian citizenship, a million dollars and a lifetime supply of weed... and that's saying something cos i really really really like weed...

I find the whole show strange, the hosts etc..but thats what makes the show so appealing to listen to, its so out there. what else you going to do in the dark while laying in bed. thats what makes for good entertainment, "weird stuff"..."weird hosts" etc. however, in regards to politial affiliations...I wont say that I am upset about anyones political affiliation or beliefs...
I am a conservative and dont care if my hosts are libs, conservatives or what ever...its the weird thing about the reincarnation that makes it "weird science" and entertainment...
