Does anybody REALLY like Noory?

I wanted to throw my shoe at the radio the other night. George Noory was interviewing Peter Lavenda, and he acted like he'd never heard most of the stuff PL was bringing up.

Is it just me, or does Noory REALLY suck? I keep listening... but I don't know why.

..............he's ok; nothing wrong with talking outside the lamestream media box while still staying grounded.
Populism in CtoC is a no-brainer..and George IRL is just as down to earth as he is on the air. Art and Ian talk like they're wearing robes on the air...George sounds like he's wearing Dickies, like many of us working slobs.......

george does not have the depth for some of the better guests. For example, Art interviewing Michio Kaku is far more interesting than George doing so.

I LOVE George! I was just thinking the other night that George was perfect to take over the show when Art left. I really like Art and his interviewing skills are solid.....but I have to say that the very first time I heard Art on the radio he was interviewing a guy that saw a ghost in an elevator and he stretched this little story out over an hour and a half. So, even though he's GOOD at what he does, I didn't always like his approach.

I also hated how many repeat shows Art did. Or "archive shows", whatever he called them. He was always getting his system booted by aliens and his phones went down often. He is certainly an arrogant bastard as well. But I loved to listen to him every single night nonetheless.

George is a decent chap. Very solid. Very even keel. There is no way you would ever find TWO Art Bells around, so we have George. George could be a bit spicier, sure, but I'll take a solid performance over a long period of time as opposed to someone with lots more drama.

I also think George connects to the people he interviews in a different way than Art. I am not sure how to explain this. Art was/is wicked smart and seemed to come from that place of seniority (again, arrogance!) and George seems to be much more down to earth and humble.

I hated that George pulled out of the Ouija board night. I was really looking forward to that.

I like Ian, but he is no where near my favorite. He seems to have a fascination with the sexual stuff, too. Anyone else notice that?

I feel that George may not be as interested as Art bell was in the content of the show but he does try to engage the guests with the same enthusiasm as Art. One thing is for sure though, and that is that Ian sucks, his questions always seem to have this essence of skepticism mixed with a little animosity.

Actually, I really like Ian. I can't stand his smarminess, especially in his opening "monologue" but I find he's a great interviewer. I've seen him REALLY go after a guest to get him to give a straight answer. George just wouldn't have done that. I can listen to Ian's interviews over and over and hear new things. Each time I hear a repeat of one of George's interviews, I want to yell at him to FOLLOW UP!

Art had the whole spooky vibe going. Truly in a class by himself... but I think that they could find someone better than George.

      Just my 2 cents.

Ian is my favorite. He's funny, sharp, prepared, and incisive, and his areas of interest almost directly mirror my own. I've been listening to c2c for probably 15 years now, and his format is, IMO, the highest evolution of the concept thus far. I would go so far as to say that he is the only host i even enjoy listening to these days.

i LOATHE george noory. i agree that he's very pandering to the guests, as well as goofy callers. art bell's great strength was the balance that he struck between giving people a chance and giving them enough rope to hang themselves, and he wouldnt let them waste any more of his or the audiences time once they did. have you ever noticed that its always the spaciest, least compelling callers who wax on and on about how much they love george and how nice he is and how he's got such a gentle soul? maybe thats because he gives them 10 minutes of fame to tell some ridiculous made-up bullshit to the whole country, where art would have cut them off in under a minute.

apart from being uncontroversial (on a show that focuses more or less exclusively on controversy) and generally unsophisticated, my MAJOR complaint with noory is his epic duplicity. i cant count the times he's made some comment like "I *really* believe that might definitely be true, I think." whAt? god, that makes me grit my teeth.

on the rare occasions that art hosts these days (and nobody dies or get abducted by aliens when he's scheduled) i find that im just as rarely interested in the topics he chooses. the ghost to coast and new years predictions call-in shows are among my least favorite anyway. ever since art took a stand against 9-11 truth, i havent had much respect for him as a member of the fringe interest community.

Yeah Ian is a real interviewer. George endorses Alex Jones, an obvious shill for all things "conspiracy" and whom Noory calls "the father of the 9/11 truth movement" - which in a way is true, if it weren't a sort of sick joke on those who are truly interested in finding out what happened on that day.

I am still waiting for Ian to do a show with Simon Shack from www.septemberclues.info

Since he seems like the only person on C2C reasonably capable of comprehending TV fakery to the extent it exists.
